Fracta
2025
A 3D-printed lamp made from extra translucent porcelain.
The Challenge
We wanted to create a porcelain lamp with delicate gaps. Fracta means “broken” in Latin, and this lamp evokes the fractured surface of the ground.
The main challenge was achieving the perfect consistency of the clay. Porcelain is the queen of clays and demands care and attention: not too wet, not too dry — just right to ensure a stable print that can support itself while drying and withstand the oven.
Because it is printed in extra-translucent clay, the entire object lights up, creating a soft, immersive atmosphere.
